OUR LEARNING COACHES

TULA doesn’t have teachers — we have learning coaches.

Learning Coaches guide and mentor TULA learners through interesting experiences as they build their mindset, practice skills, and character traits, and acquire knowledge. They act as motivators, guides, role models, and mentors.

Our coaches are recruited from the top universities in the Philippines and come from diverse backgrounds ranging from the academe, the government, the not-for-profit sector, and the corporate world. They are trained in the latest global teaching practices and all share a passion to reinvent education for 21st century learning.

    • Community Manager (Intern) in Makesense Asia

    • Co-founded Musi-Akap - a community organization that has held benefit gigs for 4 communities in Bulacan

    • Cum Laude-standing

  • Feminism: Particularly its evolving nature wherein its "advocates" are crossing the thin line separating women empowerment and degradation to men

Genocide in Gaza: Although overwhelming to know every inch of information and even when we can only do so much at this point is still alarming and surreal to be happening at this day and age

Youth unemployment: My short internship with Makesense and my immersion with the underserved youth and youth-at-risk and other NGOs made me be more passionate in raising awareness about them and creating more programs and platforms for them.

Mental Health: My involvement in a mental health program made me understand this better and made me realize that it is truly complex and multi-faceted but would remain relevant even in the long run

Red-tagging in the Philippines: As an Iskolar ng Bayan that had a first-hand experience of being red-tagged, seeing news about it, especially during Duterte regime is truly alarming

Knowledge on Philippine History/Historical Revisionism: From the recently held election, there was evidence of trying to revise our history to certain people's advantage. Furthermore, recently, there has been ongoing news with the youth, or even the elders, not being knowledgeable on basic information of our history. I find it a necessity to be taken action for as our deteriorating education system is reflected on it. Moreover, with Filipinos unaware of the history gives more leeway for politicians' propagandas to take place especially now that there is social media.
