WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Our coaches work hand-in-hand with parents and learners to ensure that each one-on-one session is tailor fit to the learner’s needs, while focused on building independence and organizational skills.

🟥 CHECK-IN

Our TULA Learning Coach will present your child with their learning goals for the day based on your chosen topic. They are asked to rate the topic in terms of their level of confidence and understanding.

🟧 REVIEW

Their Coach will go through each review topic with your child using the Gradual Release of Responsibility Framework (or I do - We do - You do).

• This begins with the Coach explaining and demonstrating the steps or theory

• Followed by the Coach stepping through the process together with your child

• And lastly, getting your child to practice on their own through carefully curated problem sets on shared Google documents, under their Coach’s continued guidance.

In this manner, we are able to pinpoint and focus on the areas where your child struggles in the most.

🟨 BRAIN BREAK

Your child will be given a necessity break in the form of a mindfulness exercise or fun icebreaker game so that their Coach can continue to build rapport with them.

🟩 CHECK-OUT

At the end of the session, your child is asked to give another self-rating to gauge their confidence level after the intervention. Their Coach gives them quick feedback on their performance in class, calling to attention and celebrating any good study habits formed.

🟦 AFTER CLASS

After the class, you and your child will have access to the topic handout created by their Coach along with practice problems and worksheets through their TULA Google Drive folder.
